Assuring Our Hearts!

I want to talk about assuring or reassuring our hearts in the truth.  What does that mean? This is so vital to our growing in journey with the Lord.

What does assure mean –

  • Made certain, guaranteed, confidence or authority.
  • To inform positively, as to remove doubt.  (This is why we speak God’s word, to assure our hearts the truth of it)
  • To cause to feel sure, to give confidence to; reassure.
  • To make certain, ensure.
  • To make safe or secure.
  • To set the mind at rest.

The following scriptures are for us to read them, speak them, pray over them and meditate on them so they begin to assure our hearts that all of God’s Word is Yes, and in Him Amen! Enjoy.

  • We are forgiven –
    • Psalm 103:3 Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseasesPsalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.Psalm 32:1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgivenWhose sin is covered. (our sins are not just covered like they were in the OT, they are wiped away completely)Colossians 2:13 & 14 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting (certificate of debt) of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.Matthew 9:5  For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk’?Psalm 130:4 But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared.Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
    • Colossians1:14 In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
  • We are Healed –
    • Psalms 103:3 Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseasesPsalms 107:20 He sent His word and healed them,
And delivered them from their destructions.Matthew 8:17 & 18 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”
    • I Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose [a]stripes you were healed.

When we don’t believe these statements it’s a sure sign that we need to assure our hearts with God’s Truth.

You might ask, why do we speak the Word of God out of our mouth?

  • To get healing to happen.
  • To get God to do something?

No, we speak for the benefit of our heart to believe it.  God has already done it.  When we speak it should be for our heart and our mind to hear us that we agree with what God has said!

Stay tuned for next week, we have many more scriptures to bring life to your mind, emotions and body.

Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous and you are His!
