Good morning, friends, it’s Monday morning again! Praise the Lord!
Have you ever given thought to the fact that God chose you before time began? I have just recently been thinking about this from a book I’m reading. I’m not talking about pre-destination as in, we didn’t have a choice, just the opposite. Your Father, God knew you would accept the gift of His Son and therefore you are chosen in Christ.
I have two scriptures that will give you such security to know that You belong to Him because He called you and you were His idea.
2 Timothy 1:9
9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,
There is so much in this verse – He saved us (sozo) healed, made whole, delivered, preserved, brought to safety, then He called us. What does that mean? He invited us, bid us to come, to bear a name/title. We are called Christians. This was the divine invitation to embrace salvation in the kingdom of God. This was not something we did or earned, not our works the scripture says, but He did this according to His own purpose and grace. Think about this, He has had a purpose and a grace for that purpose for you since before time began.
He is continually calling us to a deeper relationship, so we are able to hear that calling and purpose in a still small voice, in the likes that we have, in the desires we have. He is speaking to you even right now. Perhaps helping you to rekindle a desire you thought was lost. It’s never lost with Him. His grace is within you to reveal His purpose and calling for you.
This next verse is almost too good to be true. You are called “chosen”, “royal”, “holy” and “special”. Wow, that is something to meditate on! Are you thinking that “I missed it”? God’s gifts and callings are never taken back, they belong to you and you only. Romans 11:29 He is just waiting for your “YES” to walk in that calling and purpose.
1 Peter 2:9
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
Talk to your Heavenly Father about this today and every day. Let Him guide you by His Holy Spirit that He placed inside you. He has adventures that you could have never dreamed of no matter where you are in life. He loved you before time began, and He will love you for eternity, where there is not time!
Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous, and you are His!
