You Have Magnificent Promises

Good Monday morning to you.  I believe this will be an amazing week for you, all because of God’s magnificent promises for you!

Let’s look at these verses in 2 Peter:  I love how the Apostle Peter starts out his second letter to the Churches in northwestern Asia Minor, (modern day Turkey) to encourage them.

2 Peter 1:2-4 TPT

2 May grace and perfect peace cascade over you as you live in the rich knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

Here in verse 2, he speaks of God’s grace and peace cascading over these precious saints as they live in what they are learning about the Lord Jesus in His resurrection.  The NKJ says that it is multiplied to you.  God wants us to have more than enough “grace and peace” to overcome anything we encounter in our lives, and it all comes through the knowledge of God and Jesus.

3 Everything we could ever need for life and godliness has already been deposited in us by his divine power. For all this was lavished upon us through the rich experience of knowing him who has called us by name and invited us to come to him through a glorious manifestation of his goodness.

This is almost too good to be true, but it is true. Peter tells us Everything we could ever need for life and godliness has already been deposited in us by his divine power.  If you are talking to the Lord about a problem or situation in your life today, know that you have everything you need for this natural life and your spiritual life.  He hasn’t left anything out.  Not only has this already been given, but he says it’s “lavished” upon us.

Wow, this is what lavished means – to bestow something in generous or extravagant quantities on.

4 As a result of this, he has given you magnificent promises that are beyond all price, so that through the power of these tremendous promises we can experience partnership with the divine nature, by which you have escaped the corrupt desires that are of the world.

As a result of our rich experience in knowing Him, He has, past tense, given you “magnificent promises” that we could never pay for so you know your Father, partnering with Him in every area of your life, so don’t hold anything back from Him.  He is letting us know that through His Divine Power and Tremendous Promises He shows us our escape from whatever the world is trying to throw at us.

Take some time to think on these verses this week and see yourself partaking of His Divine Nature and Power to overcome anything you are going through.

Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous, and you are His!
