Things Are Not What They Seem

Happy Monday Morning Friends,

As we journey through this life and in this world, we need to be reminded that there is a whole other world/realm that we are supposed to be aware of.  It is the Kingdom of God that is within us.

2 Corinthians 5:16-17 (NKJ)

16 (A)Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, (B)yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone (C)is in Christ, he is (D)a new creation; (E)old things have passed away; behold, all things have become (F)new.

2 Corinthians 5:16-17 (J.B. Phillips)

This means that our knowledge of men can no longer be based on their outward lives (indeed, even though we knew Christ as a man we do not know him like that any longer). For if a man is in Christ he becomes a new person altogether—the past is finished and gone, everything has become fresh and new. All this is God’s doing, for he has reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ; and he has made us agents of the reconciliation. God was in Christ personally reconciling the world to himself—not counting their sins against them….

Have we have gotten so used to living life from the fleshly, natural standpoint, that it has become difficult to see ourselves in the spirit and by faith?

Listen to what Jesus says about Himself and you!

John 17:16
16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world
John 18:36

36 Jesus answered,  “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”

John 5:19

19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

1 John 5:4

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

Hebrews 11: 1

Now faith is the [a]substance of things hoped for, the [b]evidence (A)of things not seen.

It is not the evidence of what we see or feel in our bodies or our emotions.

Do not confirm His Word by what you see, feel, taste , hear or touch.

Romans 8:9

But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

Things are not what they seem!  Our reality is not of this world, it is another realm.  We were trapped in this dark world by sin and deception, but we are no longer of this world, yes, we are in it, but we are not of it.

We sometimes still live as though we are nothing more than mere mortals without God. You are never without God!  Brothers and sisters, we should not be living like that.  We have the Greater One living on the inside of us 1 John 4:4

Let me show you Genesis 28:12-15 to help illustrate this truth:

12 Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.

13 And behold, the Lord stood above it and said:  “I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants. 14 Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed. 15 Behold,  I am with you and will keep you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”

16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.”

Jacob was not aware that God was in that place. Let’s not be like Jacob and remember, we are New Creations in Christ; we are not lost and in darkness anymore, we have been translated into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son.  Hallelujah!

Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous, and you are His!
