Your Guardian God

Good Morning friends. Today, as promised from last week, we will finish up with one of my favorites, Psalm 121. We will focus on verses 5-8. These are so powerful. If you didn’t see last week’s, please go back and read it, you will be blessed.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.

He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade at your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.

The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.

I want you to see the last part of this Psalm in the TPT because it is so personal. I’ve shared this before in one of my teachings on Healing Journeys Today and will share it here again.

I was on some medication and it said do not get out in the sun for too long. Why, I don’t know, but I got into fear about this because my husband and I were going to got the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo a few summers ago and it was hot and SUNNY. I was about to cancel the trip that I had really been looking forward to. I had not said anything to my husband about the fear that was trying to rule me. A couple of days before our Zoo trip, I went out on our deck to read the bible and talk to the Lord about it. Through a series of things, (too long to go into here) I ended up at Psalms 121.

When I came to verse 5 & 6, I was overwhelmed with the Goodness of God, that He took the time to show me that He knew what was going on in my heart about this. That took all fear away and we had an amazing time. That fear tried to come back a couple of times while we were there, but I reminded myself of the personal promise to me and kept on going. He is my Protective Shade whenever it is needed! The Lord Himself watches over you.

As we close out this Psalm, I know a lot of people are so afraid of travel in any form because our focus is on “what if” something happens? Well, “what if” God does exactly what He says He will do and Preserve (keep and guard) you from All Evil and preserve your leaving home and coming back safely every time?

I pray that this has allowed faith to rise up for protection in every area of your life! He will never leave you nor ever forsake you.

Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous and you are His!
