Have You Ever Felt Beat Up?

Blessed Monday Morning everyone.  Today, let’s think about how good our savior is.  He is always available for us in all of our unique situations and circumstances, and He has the answer we are looking for.  Let’s read:

Mark 6:48- 52 AMP Classic Edition

48 And having seen that they were troubled and tormented in [their] rowing, for the wind was against them, about the fourth watch of the night [between 3:00-6:00 a.m.] He came to them, walking [directly] on the sea. And He acted as if He meant to pass by them,
49 But when they saw Him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and raised a [deep, throaty] shriek of terror.
50 For they all saw Him and were agitated (troubled and filled with fear and dread). But immediately He talked with them and said, Take heart! I Am! Stop being alarmed and afraid.
51 And He went up into the boat with them, and the wind ceased sank to rest as if exhausted by its own beating). And they were astonished exceedingly [beyond measure],
52 For they failed to consider or understand [the teaching and meaning of the miracle of] the loaves; [in fact] their hearts had grown callous [had become dull and had lost the power of understanding].

Mark 6:48- 52 AMP Classic Edition

I want to point to vs. 51 – It says “and He went up into the boat with them, and the wind ceased ( sank to rest as if exhausted by its own beating”

Have you ever felt like you were exhausted by your own beating?

I don’t believe we yet fully understand (have a revelation) the Grace that we have been given through Jesus’ finished work at the cross.   This verse starts out by saying “and He went up into the boat with them, then the wind and ceased.  We are not waiting for Jesus to get into the boat with us; He already lives in you, and because He is already in you, the winds have to cease.  Have an awareness that His Presence is always with you.

In vs. 48 we see the reason that Jesus went out to them walking on the water.  It was because He already knew they were in trouble.  He wanted to show them that He is ready and willing to help no matter the situation or circumstance, but it was looking as if He was going to walk right by them.  Jesus will not force His help on us.  He will wait for the invitation “into” your situation, and when He is invited in, it gives Him the opportunity to speak a Word to you so the winds will cease inside you (the fear, confusion, problem, etc.)  It’s when we see the answer inside that we’ll be able to see the answer come to pass on the outside.

Vs. 52 tells us that they failed to consider the teaching and the meaning of the miracle of the loaves and fishes.  It says that their hearts had grown callous (a hardened heart) and become dull of understanding.  Many times, we forget what God has already done for us since the time we accepted Him into our hearts.  He is always faithful and always will be, He has to because it’s nature and character.

Our prayer today

Father, I thank you that You are always faithful, even when we are not.  Thank you that you are only good and want only good things for your children.  I pray that the eyes of our understanding are opened, and our hearts are flooded with light to see You in all Your Power, Glory and Love in ever situation, in Jesus powerful name, Amen!
