Restoration Through Righteousness!

Good Monday Morning Friends!  It is so hard to believe that it is 2026, I just realized that David and I have known each other for almost 29 years and married for 24 this year.  We have experienced many seasons of restoration in our individual and married lives.

What do I mean by the title “Restoration Through Righteousness?”   In too many Christian circles, Righteousness has become a religious cliché that has lost its meaning to many people.  This has left many of us without a clear understanding of what it takes to have a relationship with God.  Let’s talk about this profound change that God has made in every believer in Christ.

  1. Righteousness restores to man fellowship with the Heavenly Father.  Christ going to the cross was not just about taking away our sins (but thank God that is included).  It was about relationship and fellowship with Father God that we did not and could not have before Christ.  When we believe and received our righteousness, we become sons and daughters and are NOW in right standing with our Father!
  2. Righteousness was the solution –  2 Corinthians 5:21  For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness].

1 Corinthians 2:14But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  (Man without righteousness cannot know God, nor can he understand Him like His righteous ones.)  That’s you and me by the way, His righteous ones!!!

If we will see how valuable it is that we have been “made righteous” through Christ’s sacrifice at the cross, it will change your life, totally and completely.

What other provisions does Righteousness provide?

Forgiveness and Healing!

1 Peter 2:24 AMPHe personally carried our sins in His body on the [a]cross [willingly offering Himself on it, as on an altar of sacrifice], so that we might die to sin [becoming immune from the penalty and power of sin] and live for righteousness; for by His wounds you [who believe] have been [b]healed.

Favor :

Psalm 5:12For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous;
With favor You will surround him as with a shield.

Feeding His Faithfulness :

Psalm 37:3Trust in the Lord, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

Peace, Quietness, and Assurance :

Isaiah 32:17 – The work of righteousness will be peace,
And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.

Removes Fear of Man and Satan :

Isaiah 41:10 – Do not fear [anything], for I am with you;
Do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you;
I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’

When we fully understand what righteousness is and that Jesus paid the ultimate price to give us righteousness, it compels us to live in that righteousness.  That means you are, right now this very minute, in right standing with Him and can have a deep, meaningful relationship with Him.  Remember, it also restores our relationships, and we can live in freedom from fear, lack and you can “fill in the blank” for whatever is challenging you right now.

Remember, you are Righteous, you are Loved, and you are His!

  1. As I started reading this one, my prayer was that I would He hold my right hand for me to receive and then I read down through Isaiah 41:10… He will certainly take my hand (and I’m healed). ❤️🙌🔥✝️ thank you ABBA and thank you for sharing this word Colleen. 🙌

  2. Goodmorning. Even though it took me until Friday to read your message, it really hits home. Especially the Isiah quote. “Do not fear anything, for I am with you” . I believe that He is here, walking through this with me, but sometimes, it can be a lonely journey. And I totally get that it is my side of the relationship that is needing revamped. Thanks Colleen and David. Blessings. Roscoe
