Having Great Boldness & Confidence To Receive What You Ask

Joyful Monday Morning Friends!

I’ve been thinking about prayer and what does it really mean.  I must admit, I used to “pray” more in my earlier days of being a Christian than I do now.  But what has changed and what do I mean by that?  Now, I pray  (talk) to the Lord all the time both in my heart and out loud,  I talk to Him about everything, what about you?

We can have confidence that as we pray in agreement, according to the will of God, He hears us.  Our Creator wants to hear what we are asking.  John tells us we can have confidence that we will have what we ask.  Confidence refers to “a strong belief or trust” and “a feeling of certainty or assurance”!

  • John 5:14-15 TPT  Since we have this confidence, we can also have great boldness before him, for if we ask anything agreeable to his will, he will hear us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we also know that we have obtained the requests we ask of him.

Let’s look at the previous verse since  14 & 15 are connected to verse 13.  Listen to this –    I’ve written this letter to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you will be assured and know without a doubt that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13

This is so powerful!  He is saying that we can be assured and know without a doubt that we have eternal life, since we can have “eternal life” confidence, then of course we can have confidence that whatever we ask in agreement with His will, we can know we have ( this is knowing/seeing it before we have it) the requests we have asked of Him!

  • Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Here, again, we are being told that we can come Boldly to His Throne of Grace!  God’s goal for us is to approach Him like children who know they are loved and just ask, knowing we will obtain both mercy and grace for whatever it is we are in need of!

  • John 16:24 –  Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

This is amazing!  Jesus Himself tells us to ASK, and why?  So that our joy may be full!  He knows it brings great joy to us and others when our requests are received.

As you ponder on these truths, what requests do you have?  What things do you want to ask?  Do it with assurance, confidence and great boldness, knowing without a doubt that you will receive what you have asked and with that, walk in joy knowing you have it.

Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous, and you are His!
