A Fearless Trust In God

Happy Monday morning to all my wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ!  I am so glad you are here for another encouraging word from the One who loves us beyond anything we have known.

I love the title for this week’s message, don’t you?  This is how our Father wants us to live this life, without fear and a full trust in Him

We are going to look at some verses out of Psalm 27 today.  You are going to be so encouraged after reading this, so be expecting to soar like the eagle!

Let’s start in Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my (A)light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The (B)Lord is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?

  1. This alone is so powerful.  He is our light and our salvation.  Light always depicts revelation and a way to see what we need to see. He is the lamp unto our feet and the light unto our path He is the revealer of truth when you need it, at just the right time you need it.  He is our:
  • light of life,
  • light of prosperity,
  • light of instruction
  • light of happiness.

He is our salvation, well, there is nothing more powerful that Christ’s salvation to us.  He is our:

  • deliverance,
  • rescue,
  • safety,
  • welfare,
  • prosperity,
  • salvation
  • victory.

This is why the next verse can declare, “whom shall I fear” when all of this belongs to us.    In verse 3 it says:

Though a mighty army surrounds me,
    my heart will not be afraid.
Even if I am attacked,
    I will remain confident.

Today, we don’t have a physical army surrounding us, and our attacks are not physical either.  The devil now comes disguised as the opposite of what God states He’s given to us, like deliverance, rescue, safety, welfare, prosperity, salvation and victory.  We can say just like David, “even if I am attacked, I will remain confident”, confident in what?  In what Jesus has already done for us.

Let’s drop down to 27: 5&6 This is so good!

For he will conceal me there when troubles come;
    he will hide me in his sanctuary.
    He will place me out of reach on a high rock.
Then I will hold my head high
    above my enemies who surround me.
At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy,
    singing and praising the Lord with music.

Do you believe this?  Do you believe that when trouble and attacks come that He will conceal you in His Sanctuary?  What does this mean?  He is saying to you and to me that He will hide us in His presence, that’s how He places us out of the reach of the trouble.    While this is going on, we get to sing His praises and thank Him with shouts of joy!

We are going to end with this; Psalm 27:8

My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.”
    And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.”

Oh, that we would run to Him as He is calling us to His presence, just us together.  When you sit in His presence and experience His love and protection, you will say confidently, just like David; “Whom shall I fear”?

The answer is no one, because you will see the Goodness of God in this land of the living, right here, right now! (V.13) Praise you, Lord!

Remember, you are loved, you are righteous, and you are His!
