Greeting with a Joy-filled Monday Morning!
Did you know that without the Grace of God, you and I would not be receiving anything by faith! Not peace, not joy, not restoration, not the new birth and not healing. We must understand the Grace of God, so I believe these next few paragraphs will bless you and build up your faith to receive and walk in whatever it is that you need today.
Ephesians 2:8-9 reminds us that we are saved by grace through faith, and that this salvation is not of ourselves—it is the gift of God. Grace is that which affords joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm, loveliness, good will, loving-kindness, and favor. We do not earn this gift through works, performance, or anything we can boast about. Grace is freely given. Through faith—a strong and welcome conviction and belief in Jesus Christ—we receive the salvation that comes through Him. It is God’s incredible favor poured out on the undeserving, and that’s all of us.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
— Ephesians 2:8-9
Grace That Rescues and Restores
The word saved, (Sozo), carries the meaning of being rescued from injury or peril, saved from perishing, made well, healed, restored to health, preserved from destruction, delivered, and protected. Grace is not a reward waiting for those who perform well; it is God’s lavish gift that jumps in and rescues us from every danger, disease, and despair. Through Jesus Christ, we receive complete deliverance, healing, preservation, and restoration as we believe.
“And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”
— John 1:16-17
The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth. God’s grace is powerful and active. Acts 14:3 speaks of “the word of His grace,” while Acts 20:32 tells us that the word of His grace is able to build us up and give us an inheritance among those who are sanctified. Acts 15:11 declares that we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved.
“But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved.”
— Acts 15:11
This grace does not leave us where it finds us—it builds us up, delivers us, and gives us an inheritance. Romans 3:24 tells us that we are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. To be justified is to be rendered righteous, declared just, or made as we ought to be—and this is given without any cost to us. It cost Jesus Everything!
“Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”
— Romans 3:24
His Grace Gives Us New Life
Titus 3:4-7 reveals that God saved us not by works of righteousness that we have done, but according to His mercy. Mercy is kindness and good will toward the miserable and afflicted, joined with a desire to help them. Through the washing of regeneration, or new birth, and the renewing of the Holy Spirit, God brings complete change for the better. He pours out His Spirit abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by His grace, we become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us.”
— Titus 3:5
Ephesians 1:7, 13 reminds us that in Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace; having believed, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.
“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.”
— Ephesians 1:7
Grace is not something we earn—it is the gift of God. The moment we simply believe, His Sozo becomes ours: full healing, total deliverance, complete restoration, and preservation from destruction. There is no performance, no bargaining, and certainly no boasting. There is only the incredible favor, mercy, redemption, forgiveness, renewal, healing and salvation that God has freely given through Jesus Christ. Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ, and through His fullness, we have all received grace for grace.
Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous, and you re His!
