One Gracious Gift Upon Another!

Good Monday Morning! It seems like many Church leaders at the beginning of the year has had “a word” from the The Lord. My Pastor, heard the Holy Spirit say that 2025 “would just be easier”! A few weeks later he sensed He was saying that 2025 would be “Grace upon Grace”! My heart receives that word.

In this week’s devotional I want to show you how we have “one gracious gift upon another”, all because of Jesus! What is it you need right now? He wants to fulfill it in your life. Life will always have it’s challenges, but the Word always has the counter to that challenge. We are going to look at the Gospel of John and the revelation he received about the “Word being made flesh and what His coming has done for us”!

John 1:1-5 JB Phillips – This is the Prologue of the beginning John’s Gospel

1-5 At the beginning God expressed himself. That personal expression, that word, was with God, and was God, and he existed with God from the beginning. All creation took place through him, and none took place without him. In him appeared life and this life was the light of mankind. The light still shines in the darkness and the darkness has never put it out.

Once His light shined into the darkness, and you said YES to Him, darkness fled and His glorious light has now brought His fullness into your life. That light will never be put out; never!

John 1:16 AMPC 16 For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favor upon favor and gift [heaped] upon gift.

This verse is such a vivid picture of God’s unending grace and favor over our lives. The idea that we receive “one grace after another” really paints a picture of continual, overflowing goodness from God, doesn’t it? It’s almost as if we can’t even keep up with how much grace He has for us.

Another way to say this is – “Out of His fullness, we are fulfilled” really captures the essence of what it means to live in the overflow of Christ’s divine completeness and abundance. It emphasizes that we don’t lack anything that we truly need to fulfill God’s purpose for our lives. We’re drawing from His infinite supply as we are given from Him whatever each one requires for the perfection of our character and for the fulfillment of our life’s purpose, even specific needs for the unique path God has called us to walk.

It’s amazing to think that Jesus’ completeness isn’t just a “nice-to-have” thing—it’s a life-transforming reality. His fullness is a direct supply for everything we’re called to be and do. It’s like we’re never left to our own resources but always drawing from His unending supply.

What do you need to be supplied with? Healing, empowerment, prosperity, a job, peace, freedom in mind and emotions? His grace at the cross has already supplied, our part is to believe it and let our faith receive it.

It makes me think of the idea of being “in Christ,” where His fullness becomes our identity and source. When we’re connected to Him, we’re always positioned to receive what we need. Does this idea resonate with how you’re seeing this “grace upon grace” in your own life right now? What kind of fulfillment are you sensing in this season?

Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous, and you are His!
