Good Monday morning and Happy New Year to you as well! We are on the cusp of a new year, and my expectations are for a healthy, fresh, insightful, hopeful, faith-filled and a no roadblocks new year! How about you?
I am praying this will be a beautiful way to start the year, focusing on God’s promises and how we can cooperate with His will for a life filled with peace, health, and prosperity. We are going to look at a few verses in the timeless wisdom of Proverbs 3, and how it speaks so clearly about the path to wholeness and removing obstacles from our lives.
Proverbs 3:1-2, 5-6, and 8 really do paint a picture of the abundant life God desires for each one of us. The concept of “length of days” and “years of life worth living” is so significant when we realize that it’s not just about quantity, but quality of that life. God’s Word, when we plant it in our hearts, brings a life that is truly worth living—full of peace, fulfillment, and divine purpose.
We are reminded in verse 1-2 not to forget what we have already learned from His Word and let those words be planted in our heart. Why does God want this for us? Because of the results He wants us to have:
- Length of days
- Years of life
- Tranquility and prosperity
- [The wholeness of life’s blessings] will they add TO YOU
Trusting in God and acknowledging Him in all our ways isn’t about striving or trying harder in our own strength, but about cooperating with His truth. When we rely on Him, we’re not just removing obstacles physically or externally; we’re also positioning ourselves spiritually, allowing His wisdom and direction to guide us. It’s not that challenges won’t come, but the “straight and smooth paths” promise that we won’t be stuck or overwhelmed by them. With Him, we can keep moving forward, no matter what.
Verse 8 is the cherry on top—it speaks to our physical and emotional well-being. In Christ, we’re not just spiritually made new, but our very bodies and minds can be healed and restored. He describes this as — “health to your body” and “refreshment to your bones”—is a beautiful picture of full, complete, supernatural healing and restoration. It’s a promise of total well-being, not just in spirit, but in every area of our lives.
Let’s respect and follow His instructions to see the results He has promised:
- Plant His Word in your heart—it all begins with His Word, meditating on it and allowing it to shape us. Proverbs 4:20
- Speak His Word over your life—our words have power, especially when we speak God’s promises over our circumstances. Proverbs 18:21
- Use your God-given authority to command things to leave your life—we have power in Christ to resist what is not from Him and to break free from anything that hinders our peace and progress. James 4:7
- Praise and thank Him for all He has done and His eternal love—gratitude reveals our faith in Him and allows us to remain focused on God’s goodness. Philippians 4:6
What a great way to set our expectations for this year: to remove obstacles and walk in the wholeness that God has already provided for us. I pray that each of us will see that path made clear and smooth as we trust in Him and allow His Word to guide us in everything we do.
Here’s to a year of walking in peace, health, refreshment and divine favor!
Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous, and you are His!

Have a blessing 2025! Thank you for all you do. -Donna
Another great message Colleen. I prayed this morning that 2025 would be the year I walk in my healing. The Father reminded me that I am not of this world and to not accept anything that is not of the household of faith. Happy New Year to you and David!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas Colleen. You are right these verses offer hope for a good future and a plan to get there.
Thank you Colleen for showing us all we have to look forward to in the new year and forever!❤️
Thank you! This is such a beautiful encouraging word.
Praise the Lord for such an encouraging message. I definitely will be mediating these scriptures. God bless you and your ministry. Have a blessed and safe New Year!
