Good Monday morning friends,
As I was sitting this Saturday morning, I was looking at our humidifier and the mist coming out of the top of it. I sensed the Lord showing me that this fine mist was like His Word and His Presence. As I looked up the purpose of the mist, I found… – it adds moisture to the air to prevent dryness that can cause irritations to many parts of the body. It refreshes!
I love how God can take something so normal and reveal a truth about Himself. I love Him so much, as I know you do too.
Let’s look at what He says about refreshing, renewing, and restoring and rest. Peter was preaching a powerful message to his Jewish brothers right after he healed a man and was explaining, that it was through the power and name of Jesus that you see this man standing here in in perfect health and complete wholeness (amp). Then he tells them how to be saved and what they can expect as they receive this TRUTH.
Acts 3:19-20 AMP
So repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, regret past sins] and return [to God—seek His purpose for your life], so that your sins may be wiped away [blotted out, completely erased], so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord [restoring you like a cool wind on a hot day];
In one moment, everything changed:
- Repent – change your thinking
- Seek His purpose for your life
- Your sins wiped away, blotted out, completely erased
- Times of refreshing from His presence
Is this not one of the most amazing scriptures ever? That the moment of salvation brings “times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord”. It’s explained like – [restoring you like a cool wind on a hot day]! I believe we can all imagine what that is like. It’s a most wonderful feeling of coolness over your warm skin.
He wants you and I to live refreshed and restored everyday like that fine cool mist coming out of the humidifier so that our life and heart doesn’t get dry and irritated with life, but instead recognize His Presence in us that restores, renews, refreshes and brings healing to our body.
Take this refreshment today and know that even right this moment you are experiencing “times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord”.
Psalm 23:3 AMP
He refreshes and restores my soul (life);
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
for His name’s sake.
Psalms 119:88 AMP
According to Your steadfast love refresh me and give me life,
So that I may keep and obey the testimony of Your mouth.
Matthew 11:28 AMP
28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation].
Psalm 119:149 AMP
Hear my voice according to Your [steadfast] lovingkindness;
O Lord, renew and refresh me according to Your ordinances.
Proverbs 16:24 AMP
Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,
Sweet and delightful to the soul and healing to the body.
Don’t let the life in this world bring irritation to you, instead, let the LIFE that lives in you bring His Words like a honeycomb that refreshes the soul and produces healing to your body.
Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous, and you are His!
