Running The Race Of Your Life!

Good Monday Morning Friends!  I just saw a title of a book that inspired me to write this devotional.   It brought back a memory of when God spoke a word to me through a prophetic ministry.  It was during the time that I was allowing thoughts and lies to tell me that God would never or could never use me again.  (Just so you know, these are not true statements.  God never says your done, it’s over).

It was at a church service and this minister had started to move in the gifts of the Spirit and give words from the Lord to people and then his eyes locked on mine, and this is what he said;

“The residue of yesterday is going away…boldness, clarity and accuracy.”   “Before in the past you spoke a prophetic word and you got shut down.  The Lord is saying you got a little shy, and little timid; that’s gone right now in the name of Jesus, that’s coming off of you right now in the name of Jesus.  I release the power of God upon her life right now.  You’ve been a spectator and all you did was watch and watch, He says “you’re coming out of the grandstands, and you are going into the race.”

We all have a race to run!  I speak this word over you that whatever residue from yesterday is gone, and you are coming out of the grandstands and getting back into the race!  Here’s the thing, God is your biggest fan, He is constantly cheering us on through His Word or through something that someone says to us.  So many times, we are not listening and are not tuned in that He is really speaking directly to us, personally.

Here is God’s Word on it:

1 Corinthians 9:24

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.

Hebrews 12:1

Therefore, we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Our race is one of faith, trust, and an assurance that God has His plan and purpose for us and is strengthening and encouraging us to run it so that we may obtain what He has already done for us.   You are the one who wins the prize, because Jesus has already gone before you.

Hebrews 6:19-20

19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, 20 where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek

I love this, He is saying we are the ones who “has” something and that something is HOPE.   “We have” means this – to have (hold) in the hand, in the sense of wearing, to have (hold) possession of the mind.  To possess.  Jesus has run His race, so you and I can run ours.  He entered the Holy of Holies as our forerunner and now we can enter to into His Presence, which is the Prize.  There is nothing of more value than that.

So run your race with boldness, clarity, and accuracy because you are not running alone!

Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous, and you are His!

  2. Thank you Colleen. I will receive your prophecy and take it for mine today. You are so inspiring to me!
I have pain. Instead of a procedure I seek Jesus my healer. Its all about knowing its ours and others like you have gone before us.

  3. Thank you for this message. I needed it more than words can say. I need to look in the mirror and see Jesus and not a woman overwhelmed with pain.

  5. Dear Colleen, so thankful for your ministry.
I was at a church on Thursday 30 May , during worship time , the leader was telling us to ask Papa God for a picture of what He is showing us and ask for the interpretation of it .
I saw a man running a race , there was no one behind him . I just know that he was the winner . That night in my quiet time I asked Papa God what He was trying to tell me . The verse that came to mind was Isaiah 40:31
I am resisting pain in leg when I walk and I was encouraged .
However on the morning of 7 June when I read your mail , I was so thankful to the Lord for using you to speak the word over us that “whatever residue from yesterday is gone! “
And yes , it is so . I am getting better each day , I can walk longer without pain . Praise The Lord, Thank You Father, Son and Holy Spirit .
And thank You , Colleen and David .
Blessings to all at Mondaymorningministry .
