We celebrate today, because as it says in Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given; It is only because God decided to become one of us (a man) so that He could take the sin of all man and nail it to a cross and bring us freedom from every bondage that this sin-sick world could throw at us.
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Today, remember that He is Wonderful, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father and our Prince of Peace forever.
We can say just like Simeon in Luke 2:30-32
For my eyes have seen Your salvation
31 Which You have prepared before the face of all peoples,
32 A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles,
And the glory of Your people Israel.”
Because Christ was born of a virgin, His Father being God, He was able to become the only sacrifice sufficient to take away the sin of the world and bring us back into right standing with the Father. What a reason to celebrate, that we now have everlasting fellowship with the Father and His Son, and it all started in a little city called Bethlehem where the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords was born!
