Last week we went over all of the core scriptures that tell us about the new creation, the new man, the new nature. All of these terms point us to you and I being brand new in Christ! Below, we see what they mean.
New creation and new means:
- new, which as recently made is superior to what it succeeds
- recently made, fresh, recent, unused, unworn
- of a new kind, unprecedented, novel, uncommon, unheard of
- the act of creating, creation
- original formation
Jesus said, “if you have seen me, you have seen the Father” . In 1 John 4:17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. Jesus was saying as the Father is, so am I. Wow, that’s how He wants us to see ourselves, as that new creation in Christ.
It takes time for our minds and bodies to be conformed to the image of His Son, but your spirit is identical to Jesus. If you don’t know your are Brand New, we will never see ourselves like Jesus. He meant it when John said “as He is, so are we”! Do you believe it?
When we are sick or going through any problem, are we thinking like the new person we are now, or are we still thinking like the old man who is dead? The old man is dead but the real you is alive in Christ.
Let’s not resist the new man’s (new creation) thinking. He is working in you the new path you are on. You live in the Kingdom of God now. He says Luke 12:32 “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
He tells us in 1 Timothy 1:7 that God has given us a “sound mind” which is a calling to soundness of mind, to moderation and self-control. This is why He; God says we have not been given the spirit of fear. We can think the same thoughts as God because we were recreated that way, to think like Him and to act like Him.
And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,
That old man is dead, and we must put to death the old way of thinking, and we can only do that with the renewing of our mind and the meditation of our hearts to begin to agree with what, and who the new creation is.
I pray that these last 2 weeks have helped you to see the new you. You are forgiven, righteous and free! This reminds me of an old song that went like this; “I’m a new creation, I’m a brand new man, old things are passed away, I’ve been born again”. This is who you are! Until next time.
Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous and you are His!
