Already Healthy!

I was listening to someone teach a while ago, and they made a statement that really made me think.  They said, “I was already healthy” and all these symptoms started happening in my body.” 

 The devil cannot steal what you don’t already have!  If he is after something in your life, it’s because you already have it, it already belongs to you and now he is lying to you to make you think you don’t have it anymore.  There is so much more to this teaching, so start with these verses to allow your mind to think on what your spirit already knows. 

Let’s read John 10:10 backwards.  I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.  ¹⁰ The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.

NLT – ¹⁰ The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

AMPC – ¹⁰ The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it ^[a]overflows).

JB Phillips – The thief comes with the sole intention of stealing and killing and destroying, but I came to bring them life, and far more life than before.

MSG – A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.

This is how things start out, we are going along and living life, then we start to feel something in our body somewhere, and what we do at that moment is the difference between what happens next and where it leads to. 

As soon as we identify that something is different in our body, we need to decide right there and then, that we are not going to accept that package, whatever it is.  I’m going to say this again, the thief cannot steal something that you don’t already have.  Did you hear that, “What You Already Have”?  Already Healthy. 

He only comes to steal what we already have and what belongs to us.

    and healing to their whole body.

    for it determines the course of your life.

So, what do we do if we did let something get by us?   We go back to the Word and see God’s faithfulness.

Let’s go to Galatians 3:16, we discover that God’s promises were made to Abraham and his seed, Christ. Christ was participating in the covenant agreement on our behalf. Jesus had no need to be justified through faith. Therefore, as our representative, the promise was made to Him, and since we are “in Him,” we receive the benefits. We are also guaranteed that this covenant will not be voided by our performance, because the promise was made to Christ, not to us (see note 5 at Galatians 3:20). We are beneficiaries of His goodness, not ours.

What a powerful statement! If we belong to Christ, which we do, then we are Abraham’s seed (singular), which Galatians 3:16 made very clear was Christ. Paul was saying that God treats us as He treats Jesus, because we have become partakers with Him through faith. 1 Peter 4:1 tells us to arm ourselves with the same mind that Christ had. Philippians 2:5 says, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” One of the keys to victorious Christian living is seeing ourselves “in Christ” with all the rights and privileges that Christ has (Romans 6:4-11).   (Excerpt taken from Andrew Wommack’s Living Commentary)

Galatians 3:13 MSG

Christ redeemed us from that self-defeating, cursed life by absorbing it completely into himself. Do you remember the Scripture that says, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”? That is what happened when Jesus was nailed to the cross: He became a curse, and at the same time dissolved the curse. And now, because of that, the air is cleared, and we can see that Abraham’s blessing is present and available for non-Jews, too. We are all able to receive God’s life, his Spirit, in and with us by believing—just the way Abraham received it. * * *
