He’s A Good Dad!

Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Luke 12:32

Wow, what a word!  Our Father has given you, (us) the Kingdom.  Not only has He given it to us, but He also said it was His “good pleasure” to give it to us.   The dictionary defines pleasure as “to take pleasure, delight.  It means delight, enjoyment, gladness, gratification, happiness, to relish, satisfaction.

Jesus said it gave our Father delight, enjoyment, gladness, etc. to give us His Kingdom.  He is so good, and He loves you so much. Can’t you hear the tenderness in His voice as He shares how our Father thinks about us?  Many of us didn’t have a father like that, so this should be music to our ears and freedom to our heart.  Oh, how He loves you!  I love how Jesus starts the comment too.  Don’t fear little flock.  He calls us His flock, that means He is our Good Shepherd, He is watching over us, He is feeding us, guiding us, leading us; no wonder He says not to fear.

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. 1Peter 2:9

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed (or moved, translated) us into the “kingdom” of the Son of His love. Colossians 1:13

Don’t you find joy in providing and giving gifts to your children?  How much more the Heavenly Father who has given us His Kingdom.  In His kingdom is love, joy, peace, righteousness, grace, forgiveness, healing, health, deliverance, freedom, prosperity and, as Peter said, “His marvelous light” and so much more.

Brothers and sisters, we belong to His kingdom of light, we are no longer in darkness, but have been brought into a new kingdom where there is only good!  Think about these things this week and let the Lord show you what that means to you.

Prayer:

Father, I pray that we hear your heart in these words that Jesus gave us.  That you are a good Father, a good Dad!  One, who in the beginning planned how to give us the Kingdom, that we would have receiving hearts to take it and walk in it, but then to tell others about our wonderful Father who has given us everything and that you take pleasure in giving this gift!

Remember, you are loved, you are righteous, and you are His!
