🩸His Blood Has Changed Everything!

Happy Monday morning, everyone!

Knowing our identity in through the Blood of Christ is everything in living this life.

As Christians, we need to know where our identity comes from and what it means to our lives. Let’s start our week thinking about who we really are “in Christ”! Our Heavenly Father wants us to know exactly “who we are” and “what we have in Him.” Ephesians 2:13 says, “But now in Christ Jesus you who sometimes were afar off are made near by the blood of Christ.”

The blood of Jesus is the central theme of the New Covenant. When spoken of in Scripture, it refers to Christ’s death as a means of securing salvation and of the institution of the New Covenant between God and man. Through the blood of Jesus, everything has changed. We have been brought near to God, and our position has been completely changed.

When a child is adopted, they gain a new identity. When my husband was adopted, he was David C., living in another state in an orphanage with nuns taking care of him. Once all the papers were signed, he became David I., now living in another state. Instantly, everything that was Mr. and Mrs. I’s became his. He now became a son in the I’s family. He was removed from one place and position to another.

God has done an even better thing for us; He has adopted us into His family.

Colossians 1:13 says, “Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son.” Notice the past tense! We have changed positions!

Ephesians 1:5 says we have been predestined to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.

Romans 8:15 says, “For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by who we cry out, ‘Abba, Father’”—Daddy, God! Mine!

This is where our focus needs to be. The more we focus on “who we are,” “what belongs to us,” and “who we belong to,” our lives will change and be transformed. We will see ourselves in His Image!

Under the New Covenant, the blood of Jesus has provided:

forgiveness of sins, a new heart, mercy toward unrighteousness, justification, eternal redemption, an intimate relationship with God, deliverance from a worthless kind of life, peace with God, the putting away of sin, continual cleansing, a cleansed conscience, deliverance from the Law, reconciliation, access to the Father, a perfect standing before God, the spoiling of principalities and powers, Christian liberty, and healing for the physical body.

This is our true identity in Christ! We are not who we used to be. We have been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of His dear Son. We have been brought near by the blood of Christ. We have been adopted into His family, and we have access to the Father. The blood of Jesus has provided everything we need to know who we are and what we have in Him.

You are loved, You are righteous, And you are His!
