Do you know what the Gospel of Christ is? When you hear that phrase, what comes to mind? Many things should come to mind. The Gospel is translated “Good News”, “Good Message” and “The nearly too Good to be true News”! Wow, you notice it says “nearly” too good. I guarantee you if we knew the full revelation of what Jesus did for us at the cross, our questions would be answered in a way that what we see in this natural realm would be completely overshadow by what is unseen in the spiritual realm. We would preach it from the housetops and not be quiet about this Gift our own lives and the lives of others!
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
Have you ever been ashamed of the Gospel when you are out an about in daily life. I have. Maybe in a small restaurant and you know you should give thanks, but you don’t because people will hear you and give you looks. Or how about when you know the Holy Spirit is nudging you to tell someone about Jesus or just give them a word, but it seems inconvenient or embarrassing to you. Ok, so we have all been there, done that, right?
So let’s look at a couple of words in the Romans 1:16 so we know why this is so powerful – Ashamed (to feel shame for something). Power (mighty work, miracle power, strength, power for performing miracles). Salvation (deliverance, preservation, safety, salvation, health, rescue, or safety (physically or morally)). Believes (to think to be true, to be persuaded of, to credit, place confidence in, to trust in Jesus or God as able to aid in obtaining or in doing something, saving faith)
This Christmas season and this coming year let’s take time with the Holy Spirit to have Him reveal these truths to our heart. We don’t want to be feel shame for the mighty work, the miracle power, the deliverance, the health, the rescuing, and safety He provides in our everyday life. Be the one who Believes, to think the Gospel to be true, and be persuaded and place your confidence in The Good Message, The Gospel of Christ!
This will not only be to “your” salvation, deliverance, health, and rescue, but it will be the same to those God sends you to. This is what The Good Message is really about.
Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous, and you are His!
