God Is the Light That Leads Us

Joyful Monday Morning, Friends!

Some time ago, my husband added a remote control to the small reading lamp that we use each morning during our time with the Lord. I’ll admit—we love remotes and dimmers throughout the house. But as simple as that little convenience seems, the Lord reminded me of a much deeper truth: while we may control physical lights, only God can bring true light and revelation to our lives.

Scripture reminds us of this clearly:

2 Samuel 22:29
For You, O Lord, are my lamp; the Lord lightens my darkness.

Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

I noticed something interesting—when I turned on the lamp in the back room, a light in the living room would also come on. Somehow, they were operating on the same frequency. The Lord used that moment to speak to my heart. When we are truly connected to Him, His Word brings revelation upon revelation. One Scripture illuminates another. One truth confirms the next. Only God knows the frequency our hearts are tuned to in order to hear Him clearly and follow His leading. This comes when we take time to be with Him and know Him through relationship and His Word. In the verse below, we see there is absolutely NO Darkness in Him, and you and I are In Him.

1 John 1:5 TPTThis is the life-giving message we heard him share and it’s still ringing in our ears . We now repeat his words to you: God is pure light. You will never find even a trace of darkness in him.

How many times have you been reading one verse, only to have another Scripture come alive in your spirit? That is not coincidence—that is divine illumination. God alone brings understanding, clarity, and direction. No amount of human wisdom or effort can ever replace the light He gives.

Samuel declared that the Lord was his Lamp—his personal source of light. In every dark place, God was the One who illuminated the way forward. David understood this as well. He knew that only the Word of the Lord could guide each step and keep him on the right path.

We are not meant to navigate life on our own. God has promised that as we walk by His Word, His light will go before us, dispelling fear, removing confusion, and keeping us from stumbling.

Psalm 27:1
The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?

This week, invite the Lord to shine His light into every dark or uncertain area of your life. Trust Him to reveal your next step. Only His light brings true revelation, peace, and direction, and He delights in leading His children into all that He has prepared for them.

Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous, and you are His!
