(We Need This Word Today!) Supernatural Protection and Long Life!

Good Monday morning, friends!

With what has happened this past week, I believe this Devotional is So Important, so that we keep our minds and hearts focused on Jesus and what He says in His Word!   Right now, we can be tempted to think all kinds of unscriptural thoughts about these Tragedies.  Don’t let times like these weaken your faith, but instead, lean into Him more than ever!  HEAR GOD’S HEART FOR YOU TODAY!!

Let the following Words fill your heart with hope, faith, love and a knowing that God Is Always Faithful!

God’s supernatural protection is a central theme throughout the Bible. He is our shield, our fortress, and our defender. His promises cover every area of our lives, ensuring peace, security, and deliverance from harm.

Yet, many people today live in fear—afraid to fly, drive, walk outside, or even leave their homes. But this is not the freedom Jesus paid for us to walk in!

The Word of God assures our hearts that we are safe under His protection, and we can confidently rest in His promises of long life and divine covering.

What does God say about our protection and longevity?

  • Psalm 121:2-8 (AMP)
“My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your life. The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in [everything that you do] from this time forth and forever.”
  • Psalm 91:16 (AMP)
“With a long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.”
  • Hebrews 13:5b-6 (AMP)
“I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]! So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently say, ‘The Lord is my Helper [in time of need], I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?’”
  • Psalm 34:7 (AMP)
“The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him [with awe-inspired reverence and worship Him with obedience], and He rescues [each of] them.”
  • Isaiah 41:10 (AMP)
“Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].”

Divine Protection is God’s Promise

Psalm 121 paints a beautiful picture of God as our Protector—watching over us, keeping us from harm, and guiding us in every step we take.

  • “The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your life.”Psalm 121:7

This is a NOW promise!

  • He will protect you from ALL evil.
  • He will keep your life—not just in eternity but right now!
  • He will guard your going out and coming in—everything you do!

Fear is Not From God

The world is full of fear—fear of sickness, fear of accidents, fear of violence, fear of the unknown.  But fear does not come from God.

If you are struggling with fear, ask yourself:

  • Am I giving more authority to circumstances than to God’s Word?
  • Do I truly believe that God is my protector?
  • Am I allowing fear to dictate my actions?

There is no condemnation if fear has been a struggle for you. But you don’t have to stay there!

God’s Word drives out fear and fills you with faith and confidence in His protection.

God Wants You to Live a Long, Satisfying Life

Psalm 91:16 says:

  • “With a long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.”

Long life is God’s will for you.
A full, satisfying life is His desire for you.

He did not create you to live in fear, sickness, or lack.
He wants you to enjoy life, fulfill your purpose, and walk in divine protection.

Are These Promises for Everyone?

God’s protection is available to all who put their trust in Him.

  • “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and He rescues them.”Psalm 34:7

The distinction is relationship.  God’s promises of protection and long life are for His children. Those who walk with Him, trust Him, and stand on His Word can live without fear.

  • You are not an orphan.
  • You have a Savior, who is your Healer, Deliverer, and Comforter!
  • He loves you and wants you to live free from fear and oppression.

How to Walk in God’s Protection & Long Life

  6. Declare:
“I am protected by the Lord. No evil shall befall me, and I will live a long, satisfying life!”
  7. Refuse to Live in Fear
  8. Replace fearful thoughts with God’s truth.
  9. When fear comes, respond with faith-filled declarations.
  10. Enjoy the Life God Gave You
  11. Don’t let fear keep you from experiencing life.
    1. Travel, enjoy time with family, and walk in boldness, not timidity.

God’s Protection Covers Every Area of Your Life

  • Psalm 121 – He protects your coming and going.
  • Psalm 91 – He shields you from disease, harm, and danger.
  • Isaiah 41:10 – He upholds you with His victorious right hand.
  • Hebrews 13:5-6 – He will never leave you nor forsake you.

When you believe and apply these promises, you will live with confidence, peace, and joy knowing that you are under supernatural protection.

 Personal Reflection:

  • Are there areas where fear has been holding you back?
  • How can you strengthen your faith in God’s protection?
  • What steps will you take this week to walk in peace, boldness, and confidence?

As you go through your week, take time to reflect on what the Lord has spoken to you. Let His truth sink deep into your heart.

  1. This was also my study this morning. I was up so early talking to the Lord, and these are some of the verses that came to mind. I was asking God to guide my steps so I could be effective today. I trust my God to lead me, and it is His glory that fills me and guides me to take another step of faith each time I do. Praise to God…He is always with me. Have a wonderful day of freedom everyone.

  2. Thank you for this word Colleen. Currently most everything and everyone surrounding me is telling me the opposite of what God’s Word is saying in these verses.
Jesus help me. You are my very present help in time of need.

  3. Thank you Colleen, a very timely message. I have dealt with fear since I was 11 years old….. way too long. These scriptures are a good reminder of our God, his intentions towards us. I must admit with all that’s going on especially this past week it is hard to stand firm but we must. Sending love to you and David
