Happy Monday to all.
If someone asked you who you are and what are you about? Would you know what to say? People ask that about God all the time. Who is He, what’s He like? So, the only way to know is to find out what does God say about Himself in His Word? Why is it important to know what God says about Himself? Because He is the only one who can reveal to you His True Nature of who He is and what His character is all about.
Why it’s important to know what God says about Himself:
- Faith is built on truth – if we misunderstand God’s true nature, we can doubt His goodness, power and His love for us.
- Agreement with God brings breakthrough in our lives – When we believe what He says about Himself, we pray, live and act in alignment with His will. We will live as though it’s true!
- Protection from deception – Many false teachings distort God’s character. Knowing scripture and knowing Him guards us against the lies.
- Intimacy with Him – We can love or trust someone we don’t truly know. The more we see Him as He is, the deeper our relationship will grow.
Exodus 15:26 The Lord who heals you – Jehovah Rapha
26 ….For I am the LORD who heals you.”
- God is our healer, in every way, in body, mind, and emotions.
Malachi 3:6 He never changes
6 “For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore, you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.
- His nature, promises and character remain constant. This gives us security in His faithfulness.
Psalm 89:34 Covenant keeping God
34 My covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips.
Hebrews 8:12 He is merciful and forgiving & forgetting For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
Hebrews 10:16-17 He puts His thoughts in our minds and writes them Himself. This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds, I will write them,” 17 then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
- God is faithful to His promises. Even when we fail, He remains merciful, forgiving and committed to us as His treasure.
Hebrews 13:8 Same yesterday today forever
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Psalm 68:4-5 His name is Lord-Father to Fatherless defender
4 Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Extol Him who rides on the clouds, By His name YAH, and rejoice before Him.
5 A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation.
- God is a protector and a provider for the vulnerable, showing His heart for justice and compassion.
Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
- Nothing is impossible with God. Human limitations don’t restrict His ability to act.
John 6:48 I am the bread of life
I am the bread of life.
- Jesus is the source of eternal sustenance – only through Him can we have true everlasting life.
John 8:12 I am the light of the world
12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.”
- Jesus dispels the darkness (sin, confusion, despair) and gives guidance, truth, and life to those who trust in Him
John 10:9-10 I am the gate
9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
- Jesus IS the only way to salvation and abundant life. All other paths lead to destruction!
When we believe and declare these truths, we position ourselves to experience His Power, Provision and Presence in our lives. God’s Word is His self-revelation that He wants us to know! This makes it possible to agree with His Word and see amazing things happening in our lives.
Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous, and you are His!
Praise Jesus! Thank you for speaking His truth!
The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous runneth into it and are safe. (Proverbs 18:10)
