What You Identify With Matters

Good Monday morning friends.  It’s December already, and we are already celebrating Christmas in our hearts.  The reason?  Because we know that He loves us and is for us and never leaves us without His Grace!

For the Christian, we have two choices in our walk.  Do we believe what God says about us, or are we going to keep believing what the devil says about us?  It’s our choice, and our choice only.  In truth, this shouldn’t even be a question, but still so many are  identifying with who they once were, or what they did, or what was done to them.

We must believe that the Blood of Jesus was, is and always will be enough for us to walk as He created us to walk Free!

Let’s ask ourselves some questions –  Do you believe…..

  • The devil’s lies:
    • You are a sinner because you sin?
    • Your identity comes from what you have done?
    • Your identity come from what others has or is saying about you?
    • Your actions/behaviors tell you who you are?

OR

  • God’s Truth about you:
  • You are a saint who sins, but are declared righteous because of what Jesus did?
  • Your identify comes from what Christ has done for you?
  • Or Your identity comes from what God says about you in His Word?
  • What you believe about yourself determines your actions/behaviors?

You are who God says you are, even if you don’t believe it.  If you are Born Again, then what He says is true about you.  Now you don’t have to live like that, but it’s true, nonetheless.   We are instructed to “put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him”. Colossians 3:10.

You are accepted in the Beloved, period!  Here’s your True identity in these next verses.  Believe it and learn to live it.

  • John 1:12  – You are God’s child.
  • Romans 5:1- You are justified.
  • 1 Corinthians 6:17 –  am one spirit with the Lord (united and joined with Him)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – You are bought with a price and now you belong to Christ.
  • Ephesians 1:6 – He made you accepted.
  • Ephesians 1:5 You are adopted into the family of God.
  • Ephesians 2:18 – You have full access to God through the Holy Spirit.
  • Colossians 1:14 – You are redeemed and forgiven.
  • Colossians 2:10 You are complete in Christ.

This week let these Truths make your identity matter to you and walk like you belong to the God of the Universe, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  Your Savior and Healer!

Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous, and you are His!
