Good Monday Morning Friends! This title put’s the biggest smile on my face, and I’ll tell you why.
Last week, I could sense a heaviness and I didn’t understand what or why I was feeling low, heavy, joyless. I woke up one morning just laying still and talking to the Lord in my heart and mind, when I heard this phrase…..
“Shout unto God with the voice of Triumph.” To be honest with you, I hadn’t thought about that scripture in a long time. I started questioning Him about it, but I soon realized that He was inspiring me to shout the Victory that I already have in Christ, or I could stay in this kind of funk in my emotions.
Psalms 47:1 AMP
O clap your hands, all you people;
Shout to God with the voice of triumph and songs of joy.
Why does He say “Triumph”? This is what it means:
Victory, conquest, success, rejoicing, joy and achievement.
Well, I didn’t want to stay there, but I also was feeling a little funny if I just started shouting, and what was I going to shout? I stopped all the questions, and the reasoning and said, “I am going to just shout”! I did and I shouted for quite a while, and without even noticing it, I could sense the Joy of the Lord rising up on this inside and then it began to make a difference even on the outside. I was smiling and thanking God for a lot of things. It was absolutely amazing and I’m still shouting!
Why am I telling you this? Because I know many are experiencing this same feeling of sadness, defeat and heaviness. It’s incredible how expressing joy and gratitude can transform our emotions and perspectives. Shouting or praising can truly lift the weight of sadness and defeat, just like in the Old Testament where a shout led to victory. It’s a beautiful reminder that sometimes we just need to release what’s inside us and reconnect with that sense of joy and strength. Why shout?
Enemies were defeated, walls (big thick walls and strongholds) fell down never to be built back up again. As I was shouting and thanking God for the Victory that I already have in Christ, so many things took place in my heart, and they will in yours too.
I want to show you the many scriptures that God is reminding us about why we need to shout. So we never give in to the wrong emotions because they will take us where we don’t want to go and they will keep us longer than we would ever want. God expects a joyful sound to be in our hearts and in our houses! Psalm 118: 15.
- Psalm. 118:15 – The sound of joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous:
The right hand of the Lord does valiantly. - Psalm 66:1 Shout joyfully to God, all the earth
- Psalm 100:1 – Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth.
- Psalm 26:7 – That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving
And declare all Your wonders. - Psalm 105:2 -3 Sing to Him, sing praises to Him;
Speak of all His wonderful acts and devoutly praise them.
Glory in His holy name;
Let the hearts of those who seek and require the Lord [as their most essential need] rejoice. - Psalm 105:43 – He brought out His people with joy,
And His chosen ones with a joyful shout,
Let me leave you with these scriptures and thoughts:
Psalm 105 says “He brought out His people with joy”.. I came out of this with His joy, His peace, His new thoughts about things and a sense of it’s all done because of Christ.
Psalm 8:2 TPT You have built a stronghold by the songs of children. Strength rises up with the chorus of infants. This kind of praise has power to shut Satan’s mouth. Childlike worship will silence the madness of those who oppose you.
These are a great reminder that even in tough times, we can tap into the joy and victory we have in Christ. Ask yourself, How do I plan to keep this practice alive in my own life?
I encourage you today, to just shout, shout the victory that is already yours, thank Him for seeing your situation from His perspective, from His Victory!
Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous, and you are His!
Thank you so much for this encouraging word. The joy of the Lord is my strength!! I will lift up my voice unto His name! I have plenty to shout about. I will shout louder than the lying symptoms!
Well I figure if I can shout really loud for a sports team to win, I could probably shout very loudly to and for the Lord!!
THANK YOU JESUS!!!
THANK YOU COLLEEN!!!!
Jesus heard me, did you Colleen?
Praise you Jesus! I needed this today.
Thank you!
love it!
Oh Colleen, your messages are always just for me! Thank you!❤️
Thank you Colleen (and David)!
I appreciate these MMD’s and your thoughtfulness to put them together. Changing one’s focus from dreariness and depression to Shouts of Joy changes our attitudes, hearts and I think the atmosphere as well! Big blessings to y’all!
Thanks for the encouraging. Indeed some days are too overwhelming 😞 but we’ll learn to shout ❤️❤️
Thank you
This was SO on-point today! I’d been feeling heavy in my heart, too. And this weekend had a meeting with someone who is mad at me for a reason I still don’t know. I’ve also been wondering about how to tear down a stronghold in my life that I’ve had for too long. But here comes you and God with Psalm 8:2! Thank God and thank you!
❤️
What a mind reader!! Thank you my friend!!
Thank you Colleen, this message did indeed bless me. I, like you, cannot imagine shouting. What will I shout? I feel a little funny as I never shout about anything. But…I will shout.
Don’t you just love how God answers in a way that you just know it is Him and not your own idea?
My dear sister Colleen. You will hear me shouting all the way from Massachusetts! What a blessing you are and thank you for your ministry! David too! Sending love ❤️
