You Can Trust Him!

Today, I want to talk about TRUST!  That’s a simple, yet profound word.  Let’s just take a quick look at what Trust means from the American Heritage Dictionary –

  • 1. Firm belief in the integrity, ability, or character of a person or thing; confidence or reliance: taking it on trust that our friend is telling the truth.
  • c. One in which confidence is placed.
  • 2. A legal relationship in which one party holds a title to property while another party has the entitlement to the beneficial use of that property.
  • 3. To give credence to; believe: I trust what you say.
    4. To place in the care of another person or in a situation deemed safe; entrust

When the Bible says to “Trust” in the Lord…. We should be hearing “have a firm belief in God’s integrity, and character, and have confidence that our God is always telling us the truth that we get His benefits due to the legal relationship we have entered into through Jesus and know that we can place ourselves safely into His care and protection!”

The following are just a few scriptures that reveal we can trust our Father God, but also why we should have a full trust in Him.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].

2 Samuel 22:31

As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

Numbers 23:19

God is not a manthat He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

Psalm 9:10

And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.

Psalm 18:2

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Psalm 37:3

Trust in the Lord, and do good, Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

Psalm 37:5

Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

Take time today and this week to read these amazing promises of Trust.  He cannot lie, He is for you, He loves you, and He wants you to put all your trust in Him and His Word.  No one can be trusted like Him.  If we can take Him at His Word and trust our eternity with Him, then we can, with certainty trust Him in all of life’s challenges.

Remember: You are loved, you are righteous, and you are His!
