Breaking Off Disappointment and Discouragement

We have all experienced times when we prayed and it seemed like nothing happened, or we’ve embraced things that were not from God, but from the one who steals, kills, and destroys. If we had thoughts that God is somehow powerless, or it won’t work for me, we need to change our thinking and refuse to blame God for what He has not done.  We need to refuse to bring God down to the level of our experience instead of us trusting that His Word is THE TRUTH in our lives no matter what!

We are going to read through some scriptures to help break off disappointment and discouragements as we look to Him and trust in His Promises to us.

John 16:33

These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

Isaiah 42:16

And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them.

Psalms28:7

The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him. My heart trusts and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to Him.

Psalms 34:17-19

When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

We need to refuse to bring God down to the level of our experience instead of us trusting that His Word is THE TRUTH in our lives no matter what!

Micah 7:8

Do not rejoice over me, my enemy;
When I fall, I will arise;
When I sit in darkness,
The Lord will be a light to me.

God is not powerless, but POWERFUL to deliver us from any situation or circumstance! He will never disappoint you! Let your faith and trust be anchored in His truth today!

Hebrews 4:16

Therefore, let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Psalms 27: 13-14

I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous, and you are His!

  1. This blessed me. I’ve watched some of your HJT videos and came over here. I’m working on getting back into walking in Gods power and fellowship like I had in the past. Our family moved to a little farm about a year ago and it’s been rough. We just added a new pup to the farm to help keep away other animals and to keep our other guardian dog company – well, last week she became Ill and then 2 days ago she passed away. I prayed and I was so discouraged but I knew that God is still my good Father. Reading this was uplifting to me.
