Everything Fresh and New!

Happy New Year, Friends (almost 😊)!

When I was growing up, I often heard people say things like, “I need a new lease on life,” or “If only I could start life all over again.”
As a little girl, I honestly thought they were saying, “I need a new leaf on life!” 😂
Funny how we can hear things so differently, right?

But here’s the little secret you and I share as believers…
WE ACTUALLY HAVE A NEW LIFE.

As we step into a brand-new year, let’s pause and reflect on this powerful truth.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP)
Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].

What Does This Really Mean?

It means you and I have the ultimate new beginning.
We are not just improved versions of our old selves—we are new creations, a new species of being that never existed before in Christ!

This verse tells us that something powerful has happened:

  • We’ve been spiritually awakened
  • We’ve been given a NEW LIFE
  • The old is gone, and the new has arrived hallelujah!

The NKJV says, “old things have passed away.”
That old you? Dead and gone.
Behold—the new has come.

So, What Has Passed Away?

Let’s take a moment to rejoice in what no longer defines us:

  1. Our old identity
  2. Our life of sin
  3. The power of Satan over us
  4. Religious works trying to please God
(He is already pleased with us because we are in Christ!)
  5. Our old life with the world
  6. Our old mindsets
(We are now free to think God’s thoughts!)

When the Bible calls you a New Creation, it means you are entirely new in your spirit—a being that never existed before.
You truly can’t get any newer than that.

New Every Single Day

God doesn’t stop at giving us a new life—He renews us daily.

Lamentations 3:22–23 (AMP)
It is because of the LORD’S loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because His tender compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness.

Every morning, you and I wake up to new mercies, new compassion, and unfailing faithfulness.
That truth alone is worth meditating on again and again.

A New Way of Thinking

One of the greatest gifts of our new life in Christ is freedom in our thought life.

Colossians 3:2–3 (TPT)
Feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, not with the distractions of the natural realm… your true life is hidden away in God in Christ.

Before Christ, we didn’t have full control over our thoughts—but now we do.
As we move into 2026, let’s commit to filling our minds with heavenly realities, not just what we can see, feel, taste, or touch.

Walking Into the New

There is so much more for us in this new creation reality.
Let’s allow the new and fresh work of God to be evident in every area of our lives—spirit, soul, and body.

As you step into this new year, remember this truth: You are Loved, you are Righteous, and you are His! And you are walking forward with a brand-new lease on life. 💛
