Planted By God’s Water

Good morning friends!

Psalm 1:3  He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

What a beautiful and powerful way to start the week, grounded in God’s promises and His Word. Psalm 1:3 is such an encouraging reminder of the stability and flourishing that come from being rooted in God’s truth.

Psalm 1:3 TPT  He will be standing firm like a flourishing tree planted by God’s design, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of his life.  He is never dry, never fainting, ever blessed, ever prosperous.

The similarity of being like a tree planted by the rivers of water is so vivid—steady, strong, and consistently nourished. Just like that tree, when we keep ourselves connected to God’s Word, we’re continually refreshed, never running dry or weary. In a world that can sometimes feel parched and barren, this is a reminder that we have access to living water that flows freely, never running out, and always sustaining us.

I live in a very dry and semi-arid climate and need to stay very hydrated. Our bodies need water to thrive, and similarly, our hearts  need the living water of God’s Word to thrive. When we neglect to drink deeply from that well of life, we become spiritually dehydrated, deprived of vitality and energy. But when we stay rooted in God’s truth, meditating on it day and night, we are constantly replenished.

And the message from 3 John 2  conects beautifully with Psalm 1:3, showing us that true prosperity starts from the inside out. As our souls prosper—renewed and transformed by God’s Word—we begin to see the outward fruits of that prosperity in every area of our lives: our health, relationships, finances, and decisions.

So today, let’s declare it over ourselves:
“I am like a tree planted by rivers of water, and everything I do prospers.”

Let’s remind ourselves that no matter the external circumstances, we have a constant flow of God’s Word and Spirit working within us, making us refreshed and fruitful in every season. 🌱

Let this be a powerful reminder of God’s provision and faithfulness. Praying that you have a blessed and fruitful week ahead!

Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous, and you are Him!

  3. I just shared with my husband last night how much I can’t stand not watching my Christian programs when my family visits because they think I watch too much of it and I need a break. I start to feel parched and dry when non Christian programs are on. They all think I am too religious. Unfortunately, that’s how it will be for Thanksgiving when they are all here. I will need a lot of God’s grace for that and to be able to function pain free. Thank you Colleen for another great word!

  4. Thank YOU for this word. You and David are such a blessing to me. I went to college in Denver. Sick all the time! I grew up 2 blocks from the Atlantic Ocean, too dry for me in Colorado! Love from Colleen in Massachusetts
