Are you experiencing the feelings of shame, guilt and condemnation? There is good news for you! Because of Jesus, this can and should be a thing of the past.
We all have a past; whether it was before knowing Christ or after knowing Christ. The Word tells us that as a believer we are New Creations, something that never existed before.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (Phillips) For if a man is in Christ he becomes a new person altogetherâthe past is finished and gone; everything has become fresh and new. All this is Godâs doing, for he has reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ; and he has made us agents of the reconciliation.
Iâm sure many of us have a story of what has caused these feeling of shame, guilt, and condemnation. So, what do we do? We start by looking to Jesus who took our sin, our shame, our guilt and condemnation.
We are given instructions in so many places in the Bible that if we will renew our minds to what God thinks and says about us, we will walk free of these feelings.
Letâs look at Hebrews 12:2 – (ASV) looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
You see, Jesus suffered shame, despising it, disregarding it, so that you and I wouldnât have to be ashamed. We all know that we should not do things that can cause these feelings, but listen, what Jesus did at the cross was enough to satisfy God to pay for your sins and wrong actions.
God is for you and has shown us how to live in His way of living, blessings, life, healing, abundance and anything else we may need. Romans 8:31 and He is the one who justifies, therefore there is no more condemnation from Him Romans 8:1
If thoughts and feelings are haunting you and attempting to bring you down, take these next promises, read them, speak them out loud, think on them and let the Word do its job in your mind and in your heart.
- Here are a few promises to remember:
- God promises never to be angry with us again. Isaiah 54:9-10
- God will never stop doing good to us and for us. Jeremiah 32:40
- God qualifies us. Colossians 1:12
- Nothing can separate us from the love of God. NOTHING Romans 8:39
- We can be sure of our hope and security in Him. He is the anchor of our soul, both sure and steadfastâŚ. Hebrews 6:19
- God credits us with the perfect righteousness of Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:21 Remember, His Righteousness is not earned but given. It is a GIFT Romans 5:17
- We can always run to the Throne Room and find grace and mercy to help in a time of need. Hebrews 4:16
Weâve been given a new nature; itâs a work of the Spirit and itâs permanent!
Philippians 3: 9, 13 & 14 (TPT)
My passion is to be consumed with him and not cling to my own ârighteousnessâ based in keeping the written Law. My only ârighteousnessâ will be his, based on the faithfulness of Jesus Christâthe very righteousness that comes from God.
I donât depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however, I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead.
I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus.
I will end with this encouragement â Below is the God-Life He wants you to live!
God offers of REST! Think about what Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30 – âAre you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and youâll discover that Iâm gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.â
Remember, you are Loved, you are Righteous, and you are His!
